See exactly what's going on inside your pipes
before anyone quotes a repair.
A blocked or damaged drain isn't something you fix with guesswork. Before any repair, jetting, or excavation work, you need to know what's actually happening inside the pipe. T.U.R.D.S Plumbing runs CCTV drain camera inspections across Brisbane's Northside and the Moreton Bay region.
We feed a high-resolution camera through the drain, locate the issue, record the footage, and walk you through what we found on the screen. If a written report is needed for insurance, strata, or a pre-purchase inspection, we provide one.
Upfront fixed pricing. No repairs proceed without your sign-off.
Most drain problems are invisible from the surface. A slow shower, a gurgling toilet, a recurring blockage in the kitchen sink — they're symptoms. The actual cause sits somewhere inside a pipe you can't see.
A CCTV drain camera puts eyes on the problem. We see the blockage. We see the pipe condition. We see whether roots have grown in, whether the line has shifted, whether something has been flushed that shouldn't have been. From there, the next step is obvious. No guessing, no exploratory digging, no quoting blind.
T.U.R.D.S Plumbing is a local, family-owned Northside business with combined 20 years in the industry. Every inspection is done by a licensed, insured tradesperson with the right equipment on board.
A CCTV drain inspection uses a specialised camera mounted on a flexible rod or push-cable, which we feed through the drain via an existing access point (a clean-out, gully trap, inspection point, or downpipe). The camera sends a live video feed to a monitor we view on site, and we record the footage as we go.
The rod has a sonde, which is a small transmitter that lets us locate the camera position above ground. If we find a problem at a specific point in the line, we can pinpoint exactly where it is in the yard or under the slab. That's important if any excavation is required later, because it means we dig in one spot instead of guessing across the whole run.
Most inspections take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the length of the line and how many runs we need to cover. We offer fixed hourly price for these inspections so you know what your up for before we start.
If the same drain blocks every couple of months, clearing it again won't fix the cause. A camera shows you what's actually going on so the problem gets solved properly the next time.
A pre-purchase or pre-sale drain inspection picks up issues that aren't visible at a building inspection: collapsed sections, root invasion, illegal connections, or stormwater plumbed into the sewer.
When a drain runs slowly but you can't find the cause at the fixture, the issue is further down the line. CCTV finds it without guesswork.
If roots have been cleared once, they almost always come back. A camera tells you whether the pipe is still intact or whether it's been damaged enough to need relining or replacement.
Both stormwater and sewer systems can be inspected the same way. We cover full property surveys, single-line inspections, and section-specific checks across the Northside and Moreton Bay area.
We provide written reports with still images and findings for council compliance, insurance claims, conveyancing, or strata records. Reports are formatted for the requesting party where we know the standard.
We bring the right tools to every job. No guessing. No "let's try this and see."
Our vans carry self-levelling colour drain cameras with sonde locators, push-cables long enough for full sewer runs, and battery-powered monitors so you can watch the footage live with us. We've got cameras sized for everything from 40mm waste lines up to 300mm stormwater drains.
We're checking for blockages, build-up, root intrusion, cracks, collapsed sections, misaligned joints, illegal connections, pipe material and condition, fall direction, and any signs the system isn't running the way it should. Every finding is timestamped against the footage so we can refer back to it.
A standard report includes a summary of what we found, still images from the footage, the location of any issues identified by the sonde, recommended next steps, and (if requested) a copy of the full video. We can format the report for pre-purchase, insurance, strata, or council use.
T.U.R.D.S is a local, family-owned Northside business with 16 years in the industry. Every inspection is done by a licenced, insured tradesperson, not a junior on their own. No subcontractors.
Where most plumbers run a camera and tell you what they saw, we run a camera and show you. You watch the footage with us. If we find something that needs clearing or repairing, we quote it on the spot with upfront fixed pricing.
When jetting is the right next step, we can do it on the same visit. Same van. Same crew. No second call-out.

Call us on 0429 359 081 or book online. Let us know what kind of inspection you need (pre-purchase, post-blockage, insurance, recurring issue) so we turn up with the right setup.
We locate the access point and feed the camera through the line. You watch the footage with us as we go. If there are multiple lines to cover, we'll run each one.
We talk you through what we're seeing, identify any issues, and use the sonde to locate any problem areas above ground. If a follow-up service like jetting or repair is needed, we quote it on the spot.
If a report is needed, we'll have it to you with still images, findings, and recommendations. No repair work proceeds without your approval.

Most inspections take 30 to 60 minutes on site, including reviewing the footage with you. Larger properties with multiple lines or longer runs can take a bit more time. We'll let you know when we quote.
It's not a legal requirement, but it's one of the cheapest insurance policies you can buy. Drain repairs and replacements on an older property can run into thousands. A pre-purchase camera inspection catches issues before they become your problem.
No. The camera feeds through the existing access points and uses a flexible cable. Nothing about a CCTV run damages a pipe.
Yes. Roots are one of the most common findings, especially on Northside properties with older sewer and stormwater pipes. We can see the entry point, the extent of the intrusion, and whether the pipe has been damaged.
Yes. If a written report is needed for insurance, strata, council, or a pre-purchase inspection, we provide one with still images, findings, and recommendations.
Not necessarily, as long as we have access to the drain access points (usually at the front or side of the property). For pre-purchase inspections, the agent or vendor sometimes arranges access. We'll confirm when you book.
Our push-cables run up to around 60 metres, which covers the full sewer or stormwater run on most residential properties on the Northside. For longer commercial runs, we can extend the inspection across multiple access points.
