High-Pressure Water Jetting
Brisbane Northside

Tree roots. Grease. Recurring blockages.
Cleared properly, the first time.

If a plunger and a drain machine haven't cut it, you need a stronger answer. High-pressure water jetting is how we clear the blockages that don't shift any other way. T.U.R.D.S Plumbing runs drain jetting across Brisbane's Northside and the Moreton Bay region, paired with CCTV so you can see what we found, what we cleared, and what the pipe looks like once we're done.

We use it on tree root invasions, grease build-up in kitchen drains, hard sediment in stormwater lines, and the kind of recurring blockages that keep coming back no matter how many times someone runs an eel through them. We jet, we test, and we show you the result on camera.

Upfront fixed pricing. 24/7 availability. No guesswork.

Drain Jetting Services Brisbane Northside: Root Invasions and Stubborn Blockages

When a drain blocks once, an electric eel will usually clear it. When it blocks again two months later, you've got a deeper problem. Roots growing back through pipe joints. Grease coating the inside of the pipe. Sediment building up in stormwater lines after years of leaves and dirt.

Jetting is the answer because it doesn't just punch a hole through the blockage. It clears the full circumference of the pipe and flushes everything out. Tree roots get cut and washed away. Grease gets blasted off the pipe wall. The drain runs like new again.

T.U.R.D.S Plumbing is a local, family-owned Northside business with 16 years in the industry. Every job is done by a licenced, insured tradesperson with the right equipment. Our vans carry jetters, root-cutting nozzles, and CCTV cameras as standard, so you don't have to wait for a second visit to get the job done.

What Is High-Pressure Water Jetting?

High-pressure water jetting (also called hydro jetting or drain jetting) uses water blasted through a specialised nozzle at high pressure to clear blockages and clean the inside of drain pipes. The jet hose is fed through a drain access point, and a range of nozzles is used depending on what's being cleared.

Different nozzles do different things. A standard nozzle is for clearing soft blockages and flushing the line. A root-cutting nozzle has rotating blades that slice through tree roots. A descaler nozzle handles hard mineral build-up and grease.

The pressure does the work, but it's the nozzle and the technique that decides whether the job is done properly. That's why we run a camera first so we know what we're dealing with.

Signs Your Drains Need Jetting

Not every blockage needs jetting. A simple drain blockage near the fixture is usually a job for a plunger or drain machine. Jetting comes into play when the blockage is harder to shift or deeper in the line.

When Jetting Is the Right Call

  • Recurring blockages in the same drain or fixture
  • Multiple fixtures backing up at the same time (main sewer line issue)
  • Tree roots suspected or confirmed by CCTV
  • Slow kitchen drains caused by grease and fat build-up
  • Stormwater drains blocked with sediment, leaves, or debris
  • A drain machine has cleared a blockage but the pipe needs a proper flush
  • Pre-sale or pre-renovation drain cleaning where the whole system needs to run clean

When Jetting Might Not Be Enough

Jetting clears blockages. It doesn't repair pipes. If CCTV shows a collapsed section, a major crack, or a misaligned join, jetting will clear what's in there but the structural issue still needs fixing. We'll talk you through repair options and price the work before going further. Nothing happens without your approval.

Drain Jetting Situations We Handle

We look after all types of drain jetting on the Brisbane Northside.

Don't see the type of drain jetting you think you need? Please contact us:

Tree Root Invasions

01
Roots get into sewer and stormwater lines through pipe joints or hairline cracks, then grow quickly inside. We cut them out with a root-cutting nozzle and CCTV the pipe to assess any structural damage left behind.

Grease & Fat Build-Up

02
Kitchen drains cop years of grease and cooking fat that solidifies on the pipe wall. Jetting strips it off completely. We also flag what's worth changing in the kitchen to slow it building back up.

Recurring Blockages

03
If the same drain blocks every couple of months, an eel keeps clearing the symptom without touching the cause. Jetting clears the full pipe and CCTV shows you what was actually happening.

Sewer Main Jetting

04

When multiple fixtures back up at the same time, the blockage is in the main sewer line. We jet it from the closest access point and run the camera to confirm the line is clear from end to end.

Stormwater Drain Jetting

05

Stormwater pipes block with leaves, sediment, mud, and roots. We jet them clean so water can move freely from the roof, driveway, or yard to the connection point.

Post-CCTV Inspection Clearing

06

When a CCTV inspection turns up build-up, debris, or root intrusion, jetting is usually the next step. We can do both on the same visit, which saves you a return call-out.

How High-Pressure Jetting Works: Equipment and Process

We bring the right tools to every job. No guessing. No "let's try this and see."

The Jetting Equipment We Use

Our vans carry trailer-mounted and portable jetting units rated for everything from kitchen drains through to main sewer lines, along with a full set of nozzles. The right pressure and nozzle combination depends on the pipe diameter, material, and what we're clearing. Standard PVC sewer lines, older terracotta, concrete stormwater pipes, and modern HDPE all get treated differently.

CCTV Before & After

We run a camera before we jet, so we know what we're dealing with, and we run it again afterwards so you can see the line is properly clear. You get to see what was blocking the drain and what it looks like once it's gone. See our CCTV drain camera inspections page for the full inspection service.

Jet Blasting vs Electric Eel: What's the Difference?

An electric eel is a rotating cable that punches a hole through a blockage. It works for fixture-level clogs but leaves residue on the pipe wall, which is why blockages often come straight back. Jetting clears the full circumference of the pipe and flushes everything out, so the drain runs clean rather than half-clean. For tree roots, grease, and recurring blockages, jetting is the right tool. For a single bathroom drain with a hair clog, an eel is plenty.

Drain jetting (also called high-pressure water jetting or hydro jetting) uses water at high pressure through a specialised nozzle to clear blockages and clean the inside of drain pipes. It's the method of choice for tree roots, grease build-up, and recurring blockages.

We charge upfront fixed pricing for every job. Once we've run the CCTV and confirmed what's involved, we give you a full price before any jetting starts. Call us on 0429 359 081 for a price on your situation.

Not when it's done properly. We choose the pressure and nozzle based on the pipe material and condition. We CCTV the line first so we know what we're working with. Older terracotta or concrete pipes with existing damage need a softer approach, and we adjust accordingly.

A typical jetting job takes 1 to 2 hours, including the CCTV inspection before and after. A heavily root-invaded sewer main or a long stormwater run can take longer. We'll let you know the time estimate when we quote.

Yes. A root-cutting nozzle slices through tree roots inside the pipe, and the water pressure flushes them out. If the pipe is structurally damaged by the roots, jetting clears the blockage but the pipe itself may need repair. CCTV tells us which one applies.

For most homes, never on a routine basis. Jetting is for clearing problems, not regular maintenance. Commercial kitchens, properties with heavy grease use, or sites with known root issues sometimes benefit from a yearly preventive jet. We'll tell you straight whether you need it.

For roots, grease, and recurring blockages, yes. An eel punches a hole through a blockage but leaves the pipe coated in residue, which is why blockages often come straight back. Jetting clears the full pipe. For a quick single-fixture clog, an eel is usually fine.

Yes. We run the camera before so we know what we're dealing with, and after so you can see the line is clean. It's how we make sure the job is done properly and you can see what you paid for.

Yes. We're available 24/7 for emergency blocked drains and jetting across Brisbane's Northside and Moreton Bay. Call us on 0429 359 081.
